One fine sunny Wednesday of May, my family and I spent my 28th birthday at Shercon Resort and Ecology Park in Mataas Na Kahoy, Lipa, Batangas. After a few paydays of saving and cutting my expenses and Master’s sleepless nights because of excitement, my simple birthday celebration went happily.
Shercon Resort and Ecology Park is a 24 hectare property full of lush and greenery landscape with different pools you should take a dip in each. And because of its location, you can also get a romantic view of the ever wonderful Taal Lake.
You can spend overnight here and book to their cute cabins and villas. They also offer other activities such as wall climbing and rappelling. They also have Zipline, Hanging Bridge, Paint Ball Game, Life Sized Chess, Maze, and Basketball Court and you could also spend your company’s team building activities there.

I agreed with my siblings to meet at DLTB in Buendia before 5:00 AM to secure the first bus trip going to Lipa. But due to I-do-not-know what reason, we left them behind and arrived at Lipa at around 6:30 AM. Since we have no choice but to wait for them, we hunted for carinderias since we haven’t had our breakfast then. We walked past Robinsons Lipa and reached Big Ben Complex. Then, I asked a tricycle driver where’s the nearest carinderia we could dine and luckily, it’s just located across the street where in. We had our breakfast and ordered some of our baon. Since there are fast food restos around the area, we bought foods for us to bring to the resort.

Mamoy hailed a tricycle that brought us from the town proper going to the resort. We paid P250 since we were five and we have bags and stuffs with us. As soon as we get to the resort and settled everything, we ate and then spent the rest of the day roaming, taking photos and dipping in each of the pools.

HOW TO GET TO SHERCON RESORT AND ECOLOGY PARK?
Via Public Transportation:
- From Buendia, ride DLTB or Jam Bus bound to Lipa. Ask the conductor to drop you at Robinsons Lipa. If you plan to buy foods in Lipa, better to drop off at Big Ben Complex instead since most of the fast food restaurants are located there, no need for you to walk from Robinsons to Big Ben Complex. Fare costs P124 and for students it costs P99 (just bring your ID along with you).
- Ride a jeepney bound to Mataas Na Kahoy and ask to drop you at 7-11. If you no longer want to eat fast foods, you can also buy foods there since this is a marketplace and there are carinderias around there also. Fare costs P13.
- Ride a tricycle going to Shercon Resort and Ecology Park. Fare costs P50 per trip.
